Hip 2446, 2026 Keeneland September Sale
LEXINGTON, Ky. — Sept. 22, 2026 — The momentum continued Tuesday at the Keeneland September Yearling Sale, where the eighth session produced significant year-over-year gains and was topped by an $850,000 colt by Yaupon.
Keeneland sold 297 yearlings through the ring Tuesday for $30,215,000, a 23.35% increase from the $24,495,000 generated by 276 horses during the corresponding session in 2025.
The session average climbed 14.63% to $101,374, compared with $88,750 last year, while the median increased 7.14% to $75,000 from $70,000.
Yaupon colt commands $850,000
Leading Tuesday’s session was an $850,000 colt by Yaupon, purchased by Donato Lanni, agent for Frank Fletcher and Jackpot Farm.
Consigned by Glennwood Farm, agent, the colt comes from a family that includes Grade 1 winner and sire Mo Town, Grade 3 winner Molto Vita and stakes winners Jaguar Paw, Venetian Mask, Justique and West Memorial.
Yaupon also accounted for another of the session’s top sellers when Talla Racing paid $500,000 for a filly by the Spendthrift Farm stallion.
Consigned by Hermitage Farm, agent, the filly is out of stakes winner Jan’s Perfect Star, by Imperialism, and is a half-sister to stakes winner Road Bloc.
Liam’s Map, Life Is Good among Tuesday’s top sellers
A colt by Liam’s Map brought $475,000 from Go Go Greys and Delta Squad. Consigned by Nicky Drion Thoroughbreds, agent, he is the first foal out of the Street Sense mare Sense Now and comes from the family of Canadian Horse of the Year Soaring Free.
Talla Racing was active again with the purchase of a Life Is Good filly for $350,000. Consigned by Four Star Sales, agent for D.C. Goff, the filly is out of the Uncle Mo mare Motown Girl and belongs to the family of champion Afleet Alex.
Two additional yearlings reached $325,000.
Warwick Equine, agent for Hyteck Racing, purchased a Tiz the Law filly for that amount. Consigned by Taylor Made Sales Agency, agent, she is a half-sister to stakes winner Not This Boy.
A Cairo Prince colt also sold for $325,000 to Joe Migliore, agent for M. Clement. Consigned by Airdrie Stud Raised and Offered, he is a half-brother to stakes winner Kale’s Angel.
September Sale approaches half a billion dollars
With four sessions remaining, the overall numbers continue to underline the strength of the 2026 Keeneland September market.
Through eight sessions, 1,732 yearlings have sold for $493,195,500, up 4.44% from the $472,224,000 generated by 1,771 horses at the same point in 2025.
The cumulative average has risen 6.79% to $284,755, compared with $266,643 last year, while the median stands at $185,000, up 2.78% from $180,000.
Taylor Made Sales Agency finished Tuesday as the session’s leading consignor, selling 37 yearlings for $2,986,000, while trainer Kenneth McPeek, agent, led buyers with six purchases totaling $925,000.
With the sale moving into its final four sessions, Keeneland September continues to demonstrate depth beyond the headline-making Book 1 results, with Tuesday’s double-digit increases in gross and average providing another strong indicator of demand throughout the marketplace.
