EXPRESS KID, a 2yo colt son of Bodexpress, surprised everyone as, under jockey Jose L Alvarez, took the lead right from the gate to set the pace, relaxed in the backstretch then drew off in the final stretch for an easy win by 6 1/4 lengths in the $300,000 Remington Springboard Mile Stakes (Listed), earning with this victory 10 points in the Road to the Kentucky Derby, and a chance to dream with roses for trainer Wade Rarick and owner Steve Haahr.
